I think space is a good idea. The Garleans seems to have the technology with giant floating ships, as do the ancient Allegan Empire technology that can move giant mass of matter from space.

I think it is more the "void" of creation etc ... Where the famous "crystal" is.. I don't think that's specifically space.. As most of the previous FF stories have been about life force / energy from within the planet.

What are we talking about?
Bahamut? He literally came from space, he was in the sky, next to the moon, next to the stars, and he grew each day (patch) - all leads to "space".
I'm curious if we will ever get to see the Lodestone in person though... That would be pretty epic..

I'm the best at space.

space... only if it involved going to the moon on a giant whale.
Sephiroth wanted to sail the cosmos with the planet as his vessel to find a new world. Jenova came from space also.
He said all this in FFVII Advent Children Complete

FF1 had space, FFIII had the dark world, FFIV had the core of the moon, FFVII had rockets, FFVIII had the moon too and Lagunamov, FFIX had garland spaceship and the ARK and well, two worlds fused together, FFXII and XIII displayed tech advanced enough for space travel, and in XIII it's clear that cocoon is the moon of Pulse, so... I guess i's not that far fetched, given that the alleghans had technology to create a moon to shut bahamut in, and that the garlean empire is digging that tech.
I'm up for it, but always if it makes sense plot wise.

I agree! Also when I threw out the idea, I wasn't imagining Xenosaga and Star Wars types of content. Something that ties in with the story and style of FFXIV! Something simple like an airship HQ up in space that we have to infiltrate, and while we're running around inside there's giant windows when you look out and can see your in space, with stars and distant planets, and can look down at Hydaelyn(spelling?)FF1 had space, FFIII had the dark world, FFIV had the core of the moon, FFVII had rockets, FFVIII had the moon too and Lagunamov, FFIX had garland spaceship and the ARK and well, two worlds fused together, FFXII and XIII displayed tech advanced enough for space travel, and in XIII it's clear that cocoon is the moon of Pulse, so...
