I guess an artificial prison that was created to imprison a dragon god and launched into space wasn't technologically advanced. The only time space-travel happens in other FF games is through advanced technology. The only times I can remember it happens is in FFIV, FFVII, FFVIII, and is mentioned in FFX-2 since it is connected with FFVII. But, since the continent of Eorzea isn't really all that technologically advanced, I doubt we'll ever be going into space. Who knows, though? Maybe the Allagans, Garleans, or Sharlayans are more advanced than we think.
I totally want to go to the moon. (FF4 is my favorite in the series)
Not when it's 'god'-powered, 'chakra'-powered or the like. We still no nothing of Dalamud's "launch" or whether it was summoned into matter into orbit, or whatever other possibilities may exist. We only know that Al'Mhigan technology (which is premised within thought of impression, experience, and generally taken form [if the Monk quests are any clue] paired with decent talent and scale for construction) was used to hone in it on Eorzea. The Garleans still seemed to think of it more like a slowly descending meteor or autonomous battlement than a sealed primal even when Van Darnus set it to drop on us.
