ARR Name Changes?

Hello Everyone I was just writing up a post to ask a question I have been wanting to ask here for awhile. I have heard that they might allow name changes when ARR releases but I never got a straight answer nor can I find any concrete information about it. When it comes to Final Fantasy I understand that not allowing name changes, It keeps the community honest and also allows people to make a name for themselves. The problem I am having is I personally hate the name I have. It is a very shallow problem but it kinda haunts me as weird as that sounds. I would love to know if they will have name changes and if they are keeping two name or changing it back to single name? Thanks for the help

We have no concrete/definitive yes or no yet, but it's looking extremely probably that we can .

They're also keeping the 2-name and I think shrinking it down to 10 characters per name (for a total of 20), though if your name was longer than that in 1.0, the longer name will remain as long as you don't change it.

Don't worry, name change is technically possible, and I don't think they won't add it. Names are going from 15 to 20 characters per first/surname. It was mentioned that things like linkshell, friend lists and lodestone? data might be lost as a result; where you would have to reestablish a link to LS's and reenter friendlist people, but I don't think that's no reason not to add it.

I believe they'll add it, np. I intend to change my name as well.

If they didn't allow it, the names of characters changing sex would not have their names correspond. So i'd imagine they will allow one name change.

First Name: 0/15 characters | Surname: 0/15 characters

First/Surname Total: 20 characters.
