Alpha testers in to phase 1 beta?

Will Alpha testers be automatically invited to be in Phase 1 Beta? I heard this is not happening but in recent events I have been convinced otherwise.

No. You have to apply if you're not Legacy for phase 1.

XD I think the bitching is an inevitability, even though legacy being a shoe-in has been well known for a little time, there are still going to be some last-minute-nancies that cry foul><

SE said that legacy members get in automatically and that alpha members don't have to reapply but are not guaranteed a spot in, but SE can always change their mind, although unlikely. It would it make some sense to bring alpha members into phase 1 so that they can critique the changes from alpha to beta but there are bound to be legacy alpha testers. Now that I think about this further, it makes less and less sense for alpha testers to get into the beta since they asked only the legacy players to check their emails and not the alpha players....
