none of it. i'm just here for the forums.
Likely PC since I've had to get used to it over the past 2 years, and it was a gaming rig bought specifically for XIV at the time.. I'll still pick up the ps3 version as I originally intended to play thru console (played XI about 5 yrs hardcorish on 360,'so I kinda liked the console vibe..). Occasionally felt a little handicap tho cuz my ls mates would have cool addons they could use, so I'm excited to stick with the PC and see how it goes.

Both.
The ps3 one will be the backup incase my pc bites the dust.

Will be playing on both, probably with the PS3 as my main source of FFXIV.
I share lodgings with my brother, and we are both big gaming fans but don't have the room for another PC, so the fact that it is coming out on the PS3 has always been a huge sale point to me. I can't wait to slob out in my bed and play a huge RPG while he carves out his niche in DOTA2.
@inura Yes ! Me to i cant wait to just play it on my ps3.
Can anyone post a list of all the parts i need to build a pc that would max out ffxiv..?
One condition i would prefer all the parts to be from microcenter.com seeing as how there is one near my city. I would also like the best rig from that website to be posted on here as well (the link)
Buying a new rig always excites me specially if its going to be for ARR

PC, since i'm a performance enthuastic. Not to mention i'm going to need access to VoIP, excel spreadsheets and a few possible convenience plugins. Already built my current setup pre-1.0. Later i added watercooling, so i could really crank up the overclocks.
Upcoming benchmark release and performance comparisons between other users will decide, if i'll upgrade my PSU, and push my comp's current limits for even greater overclocks.

Right now we don't know the max setting of ARR, it may be different than Alpha. Also beta is under NDA for first two phases.
What we can do is when benchmark is released we collect scores and what hardware people are using then compare it against what SE says is the score that allows highest settings. I did this before for FFXIV 1.0.
What was bad about old benchmark is that the graphics were on standard settings with no AA. Also threading wasn't done very well so it favored Intel CPUs that have high IPC. What ended up happening is you needed an overclocked Intel quad core CPU to reach above 8000 along with a lot of GPU power for high res. Hopefully this will be fixed with new benchmark.

Probably PC 90% of the time, PS3 if I don't feel like getting out of bed on the weekend ;p.
