Oh wow... maybe they made it so you press you L or R on your controller to toggle between plus's, press up, right, left, down on you d-pad to actually start the move. Or press up, right, left, d-pad to high light the move button and confirm with the x or a button. Both would end complaints that people who use controllers can't play good enough for highlevel end game content, but the former would be best option because we won't need to confirm it. I personally would love a toggle between highlighting the move for selection or pressing the move for selection with the d-pad.

Now that I think about, I'm probably wrong unless they want to do with triangle, square, cross and circle since how would you target.

The way they described it, all the d-pad and command buttons (X, square, circle, triangle on a PS controller) will be tied to a command on your "bar" (if we can call it that) once you press either L2 or R2. That means you have 16 commands (8 for L2, 8 for R2) readily available at the press of 2 buttons, which makes it just as efficient as the keyboard. When you let go of the triggers, I guess the controller will work similarly to how it did in 1.0. When you press both triggers at the same time, you can change sets of actions by pressing up or down like you how changed bars in 1.0.

It sounds pretty awesome, tbh. I can't wait to try it.

Hmm... that is interesting... I have mixed feeling with having to hold a trigger rather than just press it once to go into the battle mode but I'll just have to try it myself... I'm glad my hypothesis was pretty close and that does enable players on the gamepad to speed up commands greatly. I don't like the idea of having to press L2 or R2 to switch bars simply because of the springiness of the L2 and R2 button on the ps3 controller, but I'll probably just have to get used to it.

The last one is not right. To change the cross-bar (I call it that for now ^^), you press L2+R2 and 1 button from the d-pad or 1 button from the cross-triangle-circle-square buttons.
As example, you want cross-bar #5. You press L2+R2+triangle and the cross-bar switch to #5. Then you press L2+R2+d-pad up and cross-bar switch back to #1

There are 8 cross-bars and each cross-bar has 16 slots. That are 128 slots total ^^

After reading that section I think they should make control a bit different. There are 4 pallets (crosses), I'll number from 1 to 4 from left to right. I think crosses 2 and 3 should be controlled by the directional button and by the shape button respectfully without holding L2 or R2. We should press buttons in pallet 1 by holding L2 and using directional buttons. And should press buttons in pallet 4 by pressing holding R2 and pressing the shape buttons. To me that seems the more smooth, than holding R2 or L2 two switch from controlling 1 and 2 to 3 and 4...
