Yeah it was the fact it had it's shell still half on that made me think pet rather than chick same as the pic. Quick link to it here for comparison

Yoshi and the devs have shown it quite a few times already, so it should be safe.
excited to play. I need a good place to get a PS3 style controller for my PC that is cheap...any suggestions?!
Good point! I also think I see the standard bag UI (a grid of colored dots for each bag as well as one for equipped items) on the far bottom right. That UI is specific to the PC version.
Due to its lower resolution, the PS3 version UI (seen below) replaces the dot grid with a simple series of numbers listing how many items are in each bag. It also drops the micro menu buttons to the left of the bag display in the PC version.
I take this as a sign that the PC version might let you use your mouse to click on elements such as the micro menu even when set to the controller interface. I'm sure there will be a way to access that with the controller as well, though.
There was a way to with 1.0, so I don't think they'd get rid of that in ARR.
I played all of XIV and for several years on XI using a normal PS2 controller and a simple USB adapter. NO need to worry about drivers or dead controllers mid fight and i never had any problems with the shoulder buttons like i know many xbox gamepad users did.
PS2 USB adapters cost under £5 and are readily available. I assume they would be similarly cheap and easy to purchase wherever you are from.
Will the chocobo mask be available in ARR?
I just hope we can choose which UI we want when connecting a gamepad. Personally I liked the 1.0 way over this button combo stuff
If you look closely you can see the mouse cursorso it's not the PS3 version. Sounds like they have a video coming up.
Can't wait!
