Just reposted this up so anyone new to this topic are all on the same page. This isn't the ps3 ui, but the pc ui with game pad.
Also here is a quote explaining the uiCould you please explain how to control the 16 pallets or switching between pallets?
M: We are calling the 8 slots of left/right side as “action set” when explaining in more details when you hold the L2 button the L2 side’s 8 slots will glow while it’s in that ste by pressing the direction key or circle, X, square, triangle button you can execute 8 actions. When you let go of the L2 button the glow will go away and now when you press the R2 the right side 8 slots will glow.
When you hold both L2 and R2 the center number mark will glow and you can switch action sets. By holding the L2 and R2 together by pressing the direction key or 4 buttons it will switch between 1 to 8 action sets. with 16 slots per action set you will also have 8 sets of these with total of 128 actions per class and this is per class

It's probably a stone on the ground making the first digit look like a 4.
I'm really curious to see how the controller UI is for PC. I used wired Xbox 360 controller since 1.0 alpha lol, got this whole computer for FFXIV (and cause of other games too ^_^). But if I dont like it I dont mind keyboard and mouse.
Hopefully we get to find out soon =D

Hopefully we get to find out soon =Dfrom the look of it you can only have 16 action two of them would be spirt and chocobo mount. But i'm guessing you can press TL and TR and the D-pad to show more action
but i guess we have to wait and see on that video and then test it out for our self i really do enjoy controller more over keyboard/mouse so i hoping they do it right.

Oh wow... maybe they made it so you press you L or R on your controller to toggle between plus's, press up, right, left, down on you d-pad to actually start the move. Or press up, right, left, d-pad to high light the move button and confirm with the x or a button. Both would end complaints that people who use controllers can't play good enough for highlevel end game content, but the former would be best option because we won't need to confirm it. I personally would love a toggle between highlighting the move for selection or pressing the move for selection with the d-pad.i just want to know how would it workfrom the look of it you can only have 16 action two of them would be spirt and chocobo mount. Now that I think about, I'm probably wrong unless they want to do with triangle, square, cross and circle since how would you target.

The way they described it, all the d-pad and command buttons (X, square, circle, triangle on a PS controller) will be tied to a command on your "bar" (if we can call it that) once you press either L2 or R2. That means you have 16 commands (8 for L2, 8 for R2) readily available at the press of 2 buttons, which makes it just as efficient as the keyboard. When you let go of the triggers, I guess the controller will work similarly to how it did in 1.0. When you press both triggers at the same time, you can change sets of actions by pressing up or down like you how changed bars in 1.0.Oh wow... maybe they made it so you press you L or R on your controller to toggle between plus's, press up, right, left, down on you d-pad to actually start the move. It sounds pretty awesome, tbh. I can't wait to try it.

Hmm... that is interesting... I have mixed feeling with having to hold a trigger rather than just press it once to go into the battle mode but I'll just have to try it myself... I'm glad my hypothesis was pretty close and that does enable players on the gamepad to speed up commands greatly. I don't like the idea of having to press L2 or R2 to switch bars simply because of the springiness of the L2 and R2 button on the ps3 controller, but I'll probably just have to get used to it.The way they described it, all the d-pad and command buttons (X, square, circle, triangle on a PS controller) will be tied to a command on your "bar" (if we can call it that) once you press either L2 or R2. The last one is not right. To change the cross-bar (I call it that for now ^^), you press L2+R2 and 1 button from the d-pad or 1 button from the cross-triangle-circle-square buttons. The way they described it, all the d-pad and command buttons (X, square, circle, triangle on a PS controller) will be tied to a command on your "bar" (if we can call it that) once you press either L2 or R2. As example, you want cross-bar #5. You press L2+R2+triangle and the cross-bar switch to #5. Then you press L2+R2+d-pad up and cross-bar switch back to #1
There are 8 cross-bars and each cross-bar has 16 slots. That are 128 slots total ^^
