I hope they do slow down leveling up. It's a long way to the top if you want to rock n' roll, or at least it should be.
"There's a time when a man needs to fight, and a time when he needs to accept that his destiny is lost, that the ship has sailed, and that only a fool would continue. The truth is, I've always been a fool."
Pssh. Double xp weekend. How bout something more useful like douple drop rate weekend, or just not go the FPS route and utilize FATE system to do something special that weekend.
Besides everyone is already 50 everything just so they can not deal with the slowed down leveling come 2.0 (And from the looks of peoples opinions... funny, it's still now slow enough).
Rested Bonus.

I guess I am the only one that tought about what rested bonus effects :/

Well having a double exp weekend is like taking the lore from the game by pushing real world events into it.
It's not something I'm too fond for, and this kind of stuff is perfect for shooters.

I miss the anniversary rings =3

It was boring cause we have exped 1-50 in the same zones again and again. If i take ff11 as comparison it was fun cause we had to change zone, and it was a real travel.

Oh sorry I was talking about games with a leveling component in general, but with respect to FFXIV 1.x yeah I agree that being in the same zone probably added to it being boring.
Another part that made it boring for me is that everything turned into this giant aoe-spam-zerg-feast... with little to no thought in what you were doing. It just doesn't make sense to have virtually all the "fun" battles/encounters only exist once you reach level cap.
That's really what makes any level process boring for me: battles/encounters that are dull, lackluster, and require no thought whatsoever. And this is regardless of the "leveling process"... whether it be old-FFXI-style party-based camping, or WoW-style solo quest-chaining; both require battles/encounters.
