Double Exp weekends in FFXIV

9 months for 75? it took me 3 years for lvl 55 on my first chara (of course that was back in the old grind days w/o books)

I got to level in Bibiki Bay and such, too. Thing is I focused mainly on a single job (and kept doing so through the almost seven years I played that game; only had 4 75s by that time, 2 of which I leveled just because), and didn't craft for a very long time. All I did was party, farm a bit to update my gear a little, and the occasional BCNM.

lol you got me there i started on one and changed a few til i found the job I like best, I did a lot of other things like the first pvp thing they started on there and just roamed around looking for parties since there was no lvl sync or anything like that back then...

Rested bonus helps keep a reasonable schedule double xp events are like "have no life weekends".. lol

Not saying I wouldnt take advantage of an event but I much prefer a system like resting which works to my time table and helps players make a habit (rest bonuses are great player habit builders and help keep a steady pace in leveling-- both good for the game).

I wouldn't knock mountain dew. Stuff like that works, look how many people bought Halo 4 and bought dew just so they could get double exp. SE could use some promotions like this.

I would say rested bonus, but instead I thought about it and concluded that rested bonus doesnt count towards quest/leve reward exp, at least in 1.0. Nothing about a change to that was said for 2.0. And while monster grinding will not be the main way to go in ARR as it was with 1.0, I have to conclude that they either extend rested bonus to quest/leve exp, or have a double EXP weekend.

Want to voice my opinion, double exp is a terrible idea in any MMORPG imo.

Things like this should come around like that XI anniversary rings.
