    Class Branching

I've heard some talk about class branching and was wondering if anyone could confirm or deny this rumor. By class branching I mean that in the future, once you hit 50, you will be able to choose between various job advancements. For example, once hitting 50 MRD you might be able to choose between advancing to either Warrior or Dark Knight. I think this would be a really cool idea, so please let me know if you have any information on this subject.

This idea has been more or less confirmed by Square Enix. Right now all we know is that the developers stated an "advancement" type system was one of two different ideas they were talking about. Many on the forums have come to popularize the Final Fantasy tactics job advancement system, where upon reaching certain ranks/level combination's on different classes would open up "advanced classes".

However an official announcement confirming this was the path SE has decided to take, has not been made.

Cool, thanks for the info. I'm also a big fan of the Final Fantasy tactics job advancement system. Just read Carpe's post about the Title/Weapon system and I'm totally for it.

Yeah that seems to be a popular one too. Most people are for a system that doesn't effect too much of the current system but still permits equality.

I absolutely hate branching systems for one reason. They almost always exclude you from the other branches.

If the system let you level up all branches, I'd not mind, but if you couldn't do them all, or at least change your choices, I'd declare it terrible.

A branching system such as the one I am referring to, doesn't exclude any classes. Simply to unlock classes you need to have met rank requirements with specific jobs. Example when a Conj. reaches lvl 15 and his THM is lvl 10, the player unlocks the ability to use Black mage, and white mage. When his THM reaches lvl 20, he unlocks RDM. so on, and so forth. Basically dif. job ranks meeting together to create new optional advanced jobs.

    LNC+ MRD= SAM
    GLD+THM+CON=PLD
