Like GW2 public quests i think.
Yoshi P. was holding this:
into the camera in one of the live letters. as a concept screenshot for full active time events ("Fate").
this was pre alpha.

Or maybe, just maybe, everyone that is participating in the FATE event gets dragged into a single gigantic party
With a variety of sub-parties in case you were in one beforehand but stuff like party-wide effects affects everyone and everyone is treated as being in the same party for whatever it is worth![]()
Just because you're in a party though doesn't mean you're not working with the rest of the people there. I rather see them do a alliance with everyone when it's possible. I get the feeling that once you get into a party some will act like they are competing with the other parties doing the FATE, brings back great memories from the Imperial Event in 1.0. -_-
If your party gets a lousy tank then chances are another tank at the scene will be doing the tanking and from my experience WHMs heal when they see someone low on HP even if that person is not in the party.
My point is, a party might make it easier for members to keep one another alive but don't think of it as a party vs the other party when doing FATE.
Edit: This was in no way directed at anyone.
I also remember reading that rewards will be based on effort so leechers will probably get the reward they deserve.

Perhaps, but I'm not sure how that would stop leeching o_o I mean, in a big party/alliance they could get away with it even easier than, for example, they could during 1.0 caravan. . . . I wonder just how big the "one" party will be, if that indeed is the case. Sounds like fun.Or maybe, just maybe, everyone that is participating in the FATE event gets dragged into a single gigantic party

Eh, leechers will be leechers, more fun for me, that is my opinion.
But I also think that SE had some sort of contribution-based reward in mind? I'm not sure but my memory tells me they were planning something, unsure what.
Well in GW2 there was a ranking, so if you joined the event but did nothing, you really got nothing. Not saying it was perfect, but it helps.Perhaps, but I'm not sure how that would stop leeching o_o I mean, in a big party/alliance they could get away with it even easier than, for example, they could during 1.0 caravan. . . . I just hop it scales in difficulty. More players make its lvl go up giving it acces to different abilities. Would also be nice if some of them grew. Say it's a dragon, after so many people it grows another head or something. I doubt they'll do any of that though. Seems like its gonna be purely for the casual crowd like skirmish
I remember interview back then, the difficulty will scale based on participant, and level sync will be applied

Man, i prefer that is akin to a GW2 public event, where you do not need to join in PT but still able to get the EXP/Loots.
