Fatigue isn't even a problem. If the Fatigue System is the main reason someone leaves the game, they are a pathetic soul indeed. They don't "Penalize" you for playing Hardcore, they penalize you for playing the same class Hardcore. It is in place to ensure Casual players don't fall too far behind, and to encourage playing other classes. I'm often in Fatigue, and I don't have a problem with it. 10% off of 600 SP isn't exactly gimping my progress. Even 20 or 30% isn't that bad when the SP is high. People just don't like the idea of being held back, even if it is slightly. God forbid you can't grind to 50 in a week.

Casual players will ALWAYS fall behind. Why should my 5 hours of grinding be equal to someones 1hr of grinding?

Even playing other classes you will still be affected by fatigue. It's been said time and time again don't force us to play something else reward us for playing something else.

What are you talking about SP high? You can max out like 50 60k doing leves (accomplished in 2hrs out of an ENTIRE WEEK) then what? You grind on raptors for 170-220SP (take away SP for fatigue thats not so bad lol) WHERE IS THE HIGH SP?

Your numbers are wrong. I get 350-400 SP per raptor. I also get 70-100k when I do leves with an optimal party. Your 5 hours will not be equal to someone's 1 hour of grinding unless you are in an absurd amount of Fatigue. 10% at Tier 1 is not a big deal at all.

I really like the idea of giving players that do not long in for a few days an exp bonus for the time equal to when they logged out (minimum of 24 hours) It gives them a way to catch up and wont punish people who are playing the game more.

You people are over reacting, well some of you. Right when one of you hit fatigue/surplus you go into /panic mode and think that a 10% drop in exp and/or exp will make hours of difference. Just grind through your surplus if you really want to rank it, it will not make a huge difference. I have gotten myself up to T5/6 surplus and by then I would just switch classes. Rank more than one class if you hate surplus, but do not think a person grinding for 1 hour will get the same as a person doing 5 hours with T1 surplus. If you still do not get surplus or how it works, here is a great video explaining it.

This explains the fatigue system perfectly...The numbers have changed a little since then, but in essence, this is it.

It is not the quantity of friends you have that determines your worth, its the quality of friends that does.

It makes an already borderline bored group of people want to leave sooner... so they did. And some never came back.

It's simple. If FF14 was popular, you can have an argument, but FF14 is bleeding. So you want to make it bleed more...really.

Well sure if you are trying to be wrong.

A drop in SP for playing is a a drop in SP it does affect you and it does increase the time spent grinding. To justify or state elsewise is just naive at best.

Do we grind through it of course. should we continue to bend over and not say anything? Hell no. Start you own damn thread for your wonderful reasons for keeping a reduction in SP for a very limited time spent playing.
