I hope it works on a somewhat large cool down. Maybe like 12 logs a day or something. No HQ

Well it's nice for people who hate gathering but still need mats for synthesis.
And it's also nice for people who have their own gatherer classes leveled but don't want to bother with collecting low lvl mats for some stuff they want to make.
But I'm REALLY afraid of how it could affect the markets if what they gathered was sold..so if the items are not bound to the character and therefore untradeable, I don't like this feature very much so far :/

Throwing in as well. This could end up being problematic, and may be a sign of things to come. Namely, gatherers being pushed by the wayside.
Personally when i see this, I don't think of my retainer going out into the open world to gather stuff from nodes.
I think it would apply only to the garden you have outside of your house (stuff you grow yourself in your backyard).
Anything else imo would be kinda silly.

Auction house please. Screw these retainer slaves. Give us a better storage options and quit messing around with crazy ideas. Simple things work best in all universes and dimensions.

It could be as simple as them tending to your garden, aquarium, etc.
Think Farmville.
Exploits can be minimized.
I distinctly remember people suggesting that retainers be able to tend your garden and gather your crops for you. Please, let it mean that they'll only be your gardener or stablemaster. Anything dealing with the open world I do not want.
