Whats this world coming to, I bet they would blame pac-man for people starting drugs. Grand theft auto for any crime that will ever happen. Means I cannot play my games no more because society is too ignorant to realize that the games are not the cause for acts of violence like this. I guess it makes it much easier to blame games, I guess the sales of games will go up soon. To many cops will be planting evidence in homes.

Totally disagree with you, with this other quote from the same site, that I have read a few minutes ago.

"The issue here is the same of the so called new gun law in the US, they point the finger to anything that they dont understand or better yet what they want to sanatize from the public eyes view. Wich leaves to a point here, it's not the gun, playing a game or reading a book, seeing anime, reading manga that kills people. It's the people that kills other people! And that's a fact!! So to the reporters what they want to do, is sell an history, but does that history is full of facts, real facts!? NO, NOPE, only unrelated rubbish with a game that was hardly played. So in my logic those reporters are just a bunch of manipulative leechers of the facts, and therefore they shouldn't exercize the function of being a reporter. "

It's poor journalism alright, but it's conceived to sell an history that doesn't have any facts that holds one to another. It's just rubbish inside rubbish. And german journalism is not the #1 worst in the Europe.

This is the story in english, of course i used google translator and may not be the best.

He Mind On liked to have been a mighty. Brave, smart, and just like the creatures in his fantasy world of "Final Fantasy", which spent Marco F. (19) for many days and nights at his computer. The reality was quite different. At 19, he was still living at home with mom energetic in his nursery. Withdrawn in his life as a loner, mentally ill and therefore most of the other people suspect.

Marco F. has two older sisters, both of which are already moved out. The parents separated in the mid 90s. The father is a successful restaurateur Munich, who took care of Marco and traveled with him - such as Rome. Marco previously visited a special school, the morning was always picked up by a van and later brought home. A quiet, thin boy who barely spoke. What he did last, do not know the neighbors. But that he had funny quirks: "He never went through the front door, but always through the garden and on the terrace into the house." In the past three weeks, the neighbors hardly seen him yet.

What the evening of 4 January took place is not clear. Marco lived in Boschetsriederstraße - just 300 meters away from the Halskestraße 17 in which Katrin Michalk lived. Marco knowledgeable about the area, could have come through the huge garage-residents, which connects the houses in the Halske and the Boschetsriederstraße almost together. That could also be the reason that he was seen either before or after the murder.

Katrin Michalk had worn on her way home from the subway headphones, was surprised by the extremely brutal attack completely. Marco F. stung like mad one on him completely strange woman. 17 of the 18 stitches Katrin had survived. But one hit her heart. She bled to death even in the hallway.

When asked about his motive was Marco F. a strange answer. "He introduced himself, just being able to live in their homes," said Attorney General Thomas Steinkraus-Koch. Katrin Michalk that not only lived in the apartment her unsuspecting boyfriend was waiting for her and the neighbors would be able to surprise him at all times - all that was Marco F. apparently matter. He acted spontaneously like a little child who thinks no thought to an end - an expression of his psychological state of emergency in which ervöllig unpredictable and last for all residents was a major threat.

I'm not sure if you're secretly agreeing with me or not. Kotaku is poor journalism at its finest and deserves nothing but contempt for it.

That makes literally no sense. Actually no. It makes negative sense. My grip on reason has been sanded down.

Yes it boggles the mind, however there are lots of people in the US that don't play video games and they will agree with it no matter how absurd it sounds to us .

Can't believe it. Every year there's a story like that in the German news. It's always the videogames. Complete nonesense, of course. Anyways..

I'm deeply sorry for Katrin and all her relatives and friends.

    May you rest in peace.
