Any news on fishing seems to left in the dark when it comes to information on this topic.

Fishing was like my favorite part of 1.0; getting Rod of the Luminary took forever. Add Legendary fish! Into the Belly-esque quests would make it nice as well.

i tried using a rod. Once. That wasn't really my cup of tea. Got FSH to 30 using only offhand-spearfishing and didn't do a single fishing-related leve. Then i ran out of time, as the world "ended" and all. Sooo, i'm kinda hoping they've reworked it to something a little more easily approachable.

I like what they did to gathering so far, let's hope they keep it up~

I do remember Yoshi-P talking about gathering in general, possibly in a Live Letter, and he stated that mining and logging has been revamped, and are quite similar in terms of gameplay. And to be honest, in 1.0, apart from the visuals of the striking gauge, they we're very much alike.

He did say, that they have some other plans for fishing, and later on announced that all the lures are to begone with, along with all ammunition and projectiles. Though i doubt this has been the only major change to fishing.

I tried to search that statement, but couldn't find it. Source/link would be great, if anyone finds it.
