nope first ive heard of it and don't like the idea. except for maybe a windower. like I used to use in 11 lol.
I saw a while back something where they stated Addons would be limited to UI customization and such. Can't find the info unfortunately, so take it with a grain of rock salt. I wouldn't expect them to allow anything near the range you can get with WoW however.
I could see SE putting restrictions on addons like that, Hopefully loot atlas falls in the allowed section![]()
Anything like a "loot atlas" or what have you that is pure data look-up is pretty much guaranteed to be okay (assuming SE doesn't say something silly like "it's cheating to know this much about enemies this easily"). Basically that's just a hyped up block of text with a fancy index. What they're going to likely restrict is accessing anything deeper than visual aspects of the UI. Meaning no fiddling with 3D assets, no network IO integration, basically nothing that is more complex than a skin or a dictionary. We'll see how true that is, hard to say at this point.

you are right addon are UI base only and they not going to allow anything as close to what wow could do. They don't want a unfair game with the ps3 users where people wont invite them because they can't use addon. Sure SE said they port the best addon over ps3 but even they know it would take months to even do a patch like that. they can't simple just make a update every day for a new addon and that why i think we have big restriction on addon.

I'm going to have to see what is in the final game before I decide what I'm going to tackle first. It also depends on the environment. If it is Actionscript, like the rumor states, I'll probably be a little more prolific than if it is Lua, which I am significantly less familiar with.
I actually have a prototype alliance unit-frame in Flash, which is more compressed than the current party menu we saw in the alpha videos, provides role-based sorting and a few other features. But I may just scrap it entirely if the default alliance widget is good. (Only made the prototype because I was bored and wanted to refresh my memory about Flash and Actionscript).
If the API allows us to add hot-key integration, I'll probably make a full screen log widget with one-press toggle between filter modes al la FFXI.
