NA / EU / JP server=No transfer

here something i read on the french forum.It's not a question about lag but economy. Your server turn EU and your NA, then so sorry your stuck with it.

"Our goal with the implementation of dedicated servers for new players is to create a world where the economy has no history. Therefore, players "Legacy" will not receive an option to transfer their characters "v1" to these servers from the release of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn.

New players will be able to create new characters on the servers of players "Legacy" to join them. This option will be available as long as the maximum server population will not be reached. Similarly, players "Legacy" will create a new character on dedicated servers to new players.

We are not yet able to confirm what stage during beta your characters will be permanently associated with the servers on which you are. We will share information once the schedule is finalized."

Its been known that you're stuck for a period of months but eventually will be allowed to transfer.

The word 'permanently' doesn't seem to be correctly translated? Probably means new 'permanent' characters created in beta that don't have a previous server as opposed to v1 characters.

Has anything been said if we can transfer between our current servers? I have gotten a lot of friends on Balmung, but I dont want to leave my main character and start a new one to continue playing. :P

Well of course, 1.0 characters cant be transferred to any of the new new servers being created for 2.0, but can transfer between old servers like Excalibur -> Sargatanas. Old news.

You can Transfer to other "existing" worlds. You just can't Transfer to "New" worlds since they need to establish an Economy first in those worlds. ( If you create a New Character, you can transfer that Character to any Server *including New and Existing*.

The whole point of "No transfer with your old Characters to new worlds" is because of the Economy, Nothing more than that.

Your 1.0 server is not going to turn into anything. It's going to stay located in Japan, and it's going to continue being a global/JP server.

New servers are coming up in other regions of the world that are going to be global/NA or global/EU servers, to which you can't transfer an existing character.

I don't think they've finalized everything, but last I saw, there would be no "global" or language-specific servers. Only three categories: "server in NA" , "server in JP", "Server in EU". And it's a fair bet that all v1 servers will remain in Japan.
(Edit: Except maybe Ragnarok going to Europe.)

Please link to the dev post where this was stated. I think it is a misunderstanding of a portion of the playerbase. As I understand it, all that was stated is basically this:

1. there will be new servers
2. there will be regional servers
3. existing characters cannot transfer to new servers

Points 1 and 2 are not neccessarily related, leaving the possibility that some existing worlds will be moved from Japan to other regions.

Please link to the dev post where this was stated. I think it is a misunderstanding of a portion of the playerbase. As I understand it, all that was stated is basically this:

1. there will be new servers
2. there will be regional servers
3. existing characters cannot transfer to new servers

Points 1 and 2 are not neccessarily related, leaving the possibility that some existing worlds will be moved from Japan to other regions.

That would royally piss off Japanese players and therefore they would never do it. Lack of dev post does not trump common sense >.>
