Lore quests, I approve.
I only complain about boring/meaningless quests such as kill X mobs for Joe Blow.
I think the problem is how often these two things overlap and so people miss the former due to the latter. There were some really boring quests in 1.0 that gave some really interesting insight into the way the world worked if you actually took the time to read them. I'm just happy that they are taking the time to make even boring (activity) quests have meaningful story and lore. At least that's what I'm taking from this.
Back in my day we had to use this thing called imagination to come up with our own lore. Kids these days, getting their lore handed to them by the internet.
