You can almost do exactly what the OP is suggesting. Except your map would be covering half of your POV. but with popup windows you could place them where you wanted Map on top, Character information on bottom. That way when you close them they will pop up in the last place you placed them.

The thing about windows like character screen though is their contents are laid out in a specific way. So allowing use to resize the window won't be much good because the contents would not resize or move well to accommodate the new window size.

They could setup the screen sort of like how the windows phone and its smart glass interface works, where it resizes them in perportion to the original, have them snap into place(only seen commercials and videos on this, so i could work differently than this). I think they are already have the system in place for how they are allowing you to customize your UI anyways. just a matter of using what they already have to accommodate the second monitor screen.

I would love this. Looking back, I wonder how I ever used a computer without dual monitors before lol.

    I'd love this idea!
Devs make it happen! Even if with a later update!

I wonder if it's actually technically possible, and how hard would it be if so

I bet its very possible and easy to implement, but the question is wither it would make the game to "Heavy" i remember a quote from a rep/yoshi p along the lines of that the more things going on in the UI the "Heavier" it got like if you have your quest journal, Character screen, and Inventory screens all open at the same time it can make the game heavy.

But i dont know if that is an issue if its running on a separate monitor, or not, i am not educated in the matter to have a clue if it would lol.

maybe even if it did make things "Heavier" feeling that with enough computer power(ie Ram Proccessor & Gcard) that they could implement it for people that have high spec computers that can handle it.

By 'heavy' he most likely meant having an overwhelming amount of windows/information on the screen.

The goal of almost all UIs and games is to have a clean interface that distracts less from the gameplay. Having modular windows, popups, and menus does that. In that sense, the idea on the OP would probably be a "no", but I'd like to see proper UI/window scaling for non-standard resolutions similar to other games.

Check out the Comparison Screenshots section, they have one with Eyefinity, which is what ARR should be doing as well. That way, if anyone wants to clutter up one side of their screen with a bunch of inventory screens, they can do that.

I didnt mean for the Games screen to be Panoramic like that, the screen you play on is one monitor, but the second monitor just has a black background where you can have map open, and some extra chat windows open, maybe one displaying combat information etc.. not stretching the view of the entire game lol.

    Yes I know.

To which I must ask, why not have it be panoramic, and then you can fill up the other monitor with UI windows anyway?
