Geomancer, Do you want it?

Hello all,

I do not post often on forums. I was in closed beta for 1.0 and played about 3 months after release. I quit and came back 3 months before End of an Era. I was extremely surprised to see how well Yoshi and his team handled things and after being in 2.0 alpha i must say that my faith in this mmo has been fully renewed.

Topic: Geomancer

This is probably the coolest class in the FF series and does not get enough recognition. I think Geomancer should be added in ARR during the second wave of new jobs. I have some ideas and sketches in my head that i may post later but for now i am curious to see how many actually want Geomancer. I understand that many are looking forward to Samurai, Ninja, Theif, Corsair and what have you, but lets have a Geomancer thread.

Really looking forward to Geomancer in FFXI this march.I hope it plays like the actual Classic FFIII.

Still I'd like to see more peoples suggestions on how to make Geo playable in the manor he normally is (using terrain).

If you've watched the alpha videos its not like the terrain varies like in tactic games.

Like what Zenaku and I where talking about maybe would work (some way to cause the changes around you and then wield those changes).

Basically it would depend on the zone you are in. Also weather patterns/atmosphere as secondary and tertiary mediums of grabbing an element or skill. So Geo could have "Use terrain" "Use Weather" and "Manipulate Atmospheres" as main skills/spells and perhaps have a few different traps that are set apart from using terrain.

The FFXI geomancer sound a lot like WoW's shamans. In that they work by like putting a buff on the ground where people have to be near to get or they can buff someone and they become the becon for the buff.
