I like it, was the intention to sell to your own members in the FC, or for the FC to be able to sell in the markets as a entity?
I like both Ideas, but the first one i like, you can sell to your own members at a reduced cost that you would sell to the market, that way the free company makes money and the member gets things alot cheaper,
or you could even mix the two ideas, where the FC sells to the market, and if a member of that FC goes to the market and buys that item they get a % discount that is set by the FC before sale.(Could be 0% or even 50%+)
Edit: i also had an idea(forgot to include in orginal post), we know there are going to be achievements system that you complete objectives as a FC, but have it where you unlock diffrent things you can purchase from an NPC like chocobo barding that is like the Grand Company Barding but has your FC flag on it instead, etc.(was an idea i got from wow, but i thought i would share in-spite of its origins)

There was a very similar idea in .hack//G.U. It makes a fair amount of sense if you really think about it. The proceeds could go directly into the company fund to be used for improvements / revisions that could benefit the company as a whole. Would sure make the process of saving up for a plot of land you have your eye on much easier.
Glad this is well received. It just makes sense for linkshell money to be separate from any SINGLE person. It also alleviate the need for someone to hold an obnoxiously large sum of money.
Not even to mention saving you the trouble of taking up any personal slots on the market. I suppose we'd run into an abuse wall with linkshells being so easily created. Perhaps adding a minimum member requirement in order to list items from the linkshell bank on the market?

Could also use the FC achievement system that has been said to be coming, where you have complete a list of certain achievements to unlock this ability for your FC.Glad this is well received. Actually you can only have one official FC, to my knowledge. So as long as this is a FC only thing, it should take care of itself.
Sounds like an exciting feature easily corruptible XD
"I used all the guild funds to buy my new fur of a nyan cat sweater with +2 epeen."
I wouldnt say no to the feature just because of that, just imagining some drama lol
I dont know if you meant this but it would be cool / preferred option to be selling to the real AH at the same, perhaps with a tax discount (for in guild purchases). ( I wasn't sure what you meant by shop, like that which is public or that which is private - took it that you meant private ).
Also, I'd be careful with how much "private" power you give the shops though, you dont want large groups of people circumventing the public system and creating an even weirder unrealistic* market patterns. * unrealistic like 10K for an item worth 100 gil or the opposite (not referring to 'realism').

I don't know if it was the original intent, but it would be pretty easy to make this a sort of blackbox style budgeted system. Like proceeds from the Free Shops are automatically deposited in a FC account, which is only useable for FC upgrades such as guild housing, Airships, etc.
That reduces the overall power of the idea quite a bit, I admit, but it also eliminates the possibility of abuse. You could add a "Wishlist" function where money above a certain threshold could be used to purchase items on the wishlist. That allows some degree of abuse, but also makes it transparent. Any illigitimate purchases would be recorded on the Wishlist, and members could easily restrict the potential for abuse on a FC by FC basis.
