Someone skipped over much of the thread discussion heheBig Fan of the Character Model over all, but the color scheme is terrible and not representative of Shiva at all..
Those Colors would be better on Siren in my opinion.
Shiva, the Ice Primal, can not look like she has been sun bathing in Bermuda for three months. It's just wrong.
They need to fix this and maybe her hair an cloths won't look so out of place.
Go read previous posts, they all explain why it's done that way. Final finished Shiva would probably look more like the concept artwork they did.Big Fan of the Character Model over all, but the color scheme is terrible and not representative of Shiva at all..

I've read the previous comments on this and how it might possibly maybe be a placeholder skin. Unfortunately, I believe they are wrong, by alot.
When your using place holders, you don't put in the significant effort for blend colors and add shadowing to the textures. When your using placeholder, you choose colors that clash in very obvious ways so you can definitively see the different parts of the Model. If you look at previous SE Models, they do not even do that step. They built the entire piece in the flat grey and then apply the colors they want.
It is far more likely that this is in fact the final color scheme of Shiva and they intend to use visual effects to surround her in an icy mist.

Shadows would be just part of the model- nothing extra, and they, as I would understand it, use the simple coloring to differentiate pieces, else it would be one big gray blob and its not so clear.

I'm going to agree with Kiote, as well. (HI KIOTE!) The blue accept on the lips has me worried that this is the final scheme. You'd think they'd change the overall skin tone before changing lip color. They also took great care with the pink and orange highlights in her air.
I guess I can relax a little, as some of you have mentioned that other primals follow the concept art very closely. I think Fern should be admonished for showing a hideous early stage to the fans, causing us to worry. I would rather have seen the texture-less model. BAD FERN!
I can see now why people complain so much about pictures of in-development content. Even if logically we know it'll be adjusted, we feel the need to provide feedback just in case they didn't intend to fix it. Regardless, it can't imagine a simple skin color change would be difficult.

That's the way I look at it. I'm not looking to debate the finer points of SE's Model Coloring, I'm just saying it looks finished to me and it looks wrong.
I did see a couple post back someone mention that she could have two forms. Having her suit up like Iceman could make for a pretty kool opening Cutscene.
Still think she looks more like Siren though. I think it's the ears, the eyes and the pink/orange.
That could be the fault of the skin material they're using. This one has a soft blending mate material that gives it a reddish pink undercoat. A flatter material with a blank base would make the colors much more saturated. They probably chose a quick matcap to better display the model for an audience as it would show off the shadows more naturally. When your using place holders, you don't put in the significant effort for blend colors and add shadowing to the textures. In any case this model is far from what we will see in game.
Maybe she has a different form where she turns blue? Dunno, but that looks awesome fasho!
she looks weird to me
Some dev response is required at this point. XD Sorry Ferne!
