Yes, sorry, I sometimes get the two confused.Exactly, only they are most likely using normal maps not displacement maps not trying to nit pick but there is a difference between the 2. This is the normal example I shot out but it got buried.

I admit, the very first thought I had after seeing her was "TERA". Fortunately it's not her final version. I do like how her lips are blue, it's a nice touch, shows that she's really cold.
Big Fan of the Character Model over all, but the color scheme is terrible and not representative of Shiva at all..
Those Colors would be better on Siren in my opinion.
Shiva, the Ice Primal, can not look like she has been sun bathing in Bermuda for three months. It's just wrong.
They need to fix this and maybe her hair an cloths won't look so out of place.
Someone skipped over much of the thread discussion heheBig Fan of the Character Model over all, but the color scheme is terrible and not representative of Shiva at all..

Go read previous posts, they all explain why it's done that way. Final finished Shiva would probably look more like the concept artwork they did.Big Fan of the Character Model over all, but the color scheme is terrible and not representative of Shiva at all..

I'm inclined to agree. She's creepily lifelike. Shiva has almost always been blue-skinned. Overall she looks too warm - nearly all iterations (excluding Type-0) depict her in cool colors, and any warm colored accents are kept to a minimum. In FFX there is some orange mixed in, which is mostly there to complement the blue.
I do sort of like that she isn't a thin and dainty little princess this time. She has the figure and presentation befitting a queen of ice, reminiscent of Queen Jadis of Narnia.
I've read the previous comments on this and how it might possibly maybe be a placeholder skin. Unfortunately, I believe they are wrong, by alot.
When your using place holders, you don't put in the significant effort for blend colors and add shadowing to the textures. When your using placeholder, you choose colors that clash in very obvious ways so you can definitively see the different parts of the Model. If you look at previous SE Models, they do not even do that step. They built the entire piece in the flat grey and then apply the colors they want.
It is far more likely that this is in fact the final color scheme of Shiva and they intend to use visual effects to surround her in an icy mist.

Shadows would be just part of the model- nothing extra, and they, as I would understand it, use the simple coloring to differentiate pieces, else it would be one big gray blob and its not so clear.
