I hate to be negative, but I'm not happy with how the rendering came out. I like the concept art, but the render just doesn't look right. Way too much pink in her clothing, skin is too peachy (it should be pale or bluish), and her hair is so dark gray it's overpowering the blue highlights. I didn't even recognize who this was supposed to be until I started reading further into the post. To a long-time Final Fantasy fan, Shiva should be instantly recognizable.
The concept art is great, though, IMO. Hope the final product looks more like it.
Edit: Just read Ferne's update. Glad to know the colors are just a placeholder!

I beginning to wonder if you have read Fernehalwes post yet.... .I hate to be negative, but I'm not happy with how the rendering came out. Nope, I had not. I work two jobs, and I just got home for the evening. Got 5 pages in and agreed with others who expressed their opinion that the coloring on the render was way off. But reading Ferne's post was a big relief (and I made an edit to my post to acknowledge that).
For those with snarky comments about how it should be obvious to the people who posted those opinions that the coloring won't be the same as the finished product... might I remind you of a phrase that bit us in the arse in the summer of 2010. "It's only beta."
I never assume with SE that something is not presented as intended unless it's made abundantly clear.

As seen many will defend SE and everything they do to the death, so don't be surprised to see this phrase pop up many times again then wonder what happened when the game launches and we have a repeat in some ways of 1.0's launch.
Oh just STFU already...if it was anything like you keep saying even when evidence of the contrary is adamant, so many people wouldn't be raging over not been legacy members...people have figured out the game IS GOOD and is nowhere near a clone of nothing. You simply can't be taken seriously when you insist in comparing Yoshida's process to tanaka's in 1.0 they are not alike in the slightest
It's pretty obvious when you look at the concept artI hate to be negative, but I'm not happy with how the rendering came out. I like the concept art, but the render just doesn't look right. I feel sorry for Fernehalwes for having to clear up something so obvious
