Anyone posting that them allowing Arcanist to be played straight away without any preliminary quest are most likely forgetting that Arcanist is simply the base class for Summoner, which will need to be unlocked. Put your panties back on and calm down.

Just wanted to pop in and answer the question about "unlocking" arcanist -- You won't need to fulfill any requirements in order to be able to play as an arcanist.

They won't be able to tell us that so soon. And by the looks of it, we probably won't get summoner at release. They have mentioned nothing about arcanist and today rukkrii only spoke about it...

Summoner is technically a job if it's gonna work the same way classes/jobs did back in 1.0. It's base class, Arcanist, is what I was referring to.

You mean that Summoner would be the second form of arcanist? I don't think so, I was hoping for it to be red mage.

Just putting it on the list would be a massive cop out. I'm sorry folks, but that's just lazy, especially considering the size of the team they have right now.

You shouldn't think poorly of the team before seeing if your assumption is true. Be patient we'll all know how the class system works in the following weeks...
