Nah lol, i like making my self one.
Think it might help if you have some members do articles on individual classes/jobs sorta like torwars did for star wars. The pod cast might be a little much, but it would be a nice place to find up to date info.
Hit me up some time, I plan on doing update reviews for XIV:ARR.
That we do! Was a pretty decent server, lots of helpful people.
We'll be open, and will have a submission process for user supplied articles and videos.
If someone shows good strengths here, we would probably make them a full fledged author on the site.
Definitely will! I saw your signup, you're right.. we are a strange bunch at times.
Let's talk about this closer to launch.
Go check out http://ffxivarr.com !
While we're on the subject of fan sites I thought I would give mine a mention as I put a lot of work into it yet most people don't seem to know it exists, despite being one of the first. :P
I went down the same path as you with social networking features such as character and personal profiles, friend features, timeline etc. but it hasn't proven popular. People don't seem to want that kind of stuff. FFXIVPads is popular because it interacts with game data rather than being fully user generated content. I've been late to the party with that kind of stuff.
With my site I'm trying to provide as much info about the game as I can without going down the Wiki route, IE provide quality pages over quantity. I've already got an item DB on there which I will be upgrading to ARR during the beta. Of course it can't be launched until the NDA is lifted but expect good things then. Guides for content such as raids and primals are something I am very keen to add too.
Anyway take a look if you get time. http://www.ffxivinfo.com
