My Eve character is Taak Coram. I played him for so long that it felt like my real name, so I've been using Coram in almost every game since. Llen was originally Len, but I realised Llen looked prettier. All original.

...yes I made all 3
Skye Windbinder.
I wanted a name that meant freedom and power, because I intended to make my character a primarily magic user; a true sorcerer. Magic users have always fascinated me in stories. They control the elements and bend reality. It's kind of a chaotic freedom from the natural order of things.
The name "Skye" is a unisex name that means "cloud" in Norse tongue. Can't get more free than a cloud drifting in the sky. And "Windbinder" is a name I came up with that implies the controlling of the wind, the most elusive of elements, giving a sense of real power. So, that's the story behind my name.
Zenaku Yamada
I was looking for a name that would out last itself i'm very picky when it come to names and get bored of them quick. I had the name Zenshiro yamada before but i just got bored of it and the name look longer ingame. So i went with Zenaku Zen=light and Aku=Evil i was looking for a name that had meaning and would out last itself. Then i look for a nice last name noting NA made sense so i went with other Japanese last name. I look for one that would fit and go well with zenshiro which ended up being very nice it make more sense with that then Zenaku. But like i said i dislike how zenshiro look ingame so i ended up picking Zenaku. I pick Zenaku because it had ZEN and i'm use to people calling me that ingame so why not pick other name with the same letters so it be easy for me to know who talking to me.
Yamada was a nice last name and will known in japan and it sound really nice so i pick that with my first name. Yamada mean mountain rice fieldso i ended up picking it and never look back.
That the story of my char name very simple and nice i love how short it look in game not to long like my FFXI char lol.
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together Autographed By "Akihiko Yoshida Tarot Card Sweepstakes Winner
Both my main characters and my alts names are partially drawn from my RL name and partly made up.
Violet is apart of my RL name and I was stuck for what to use as a last name for a little while till I asked the next family member I saw who came up with Solaria which sounded perfect makes me think of a violet sun. Chocobo is called Raith, sort of pulled from Wraith but dropped the w.
Katani Gin my alt gets her name from using another part of my RL name with some creative add ons and Gin because it means silver in japanese to go with her silver hair. Her chocobo is called Chichiri after Izanas chocobo in FFType-0.
Azarim Erro.
Azarim was an entirely made up name; I was muddling with names and it clicked for some reason.
Erro - taken from Neutiquam Erro, "I am not lost". My character has his own place and story in the game - the real life me and him are the same, yet distinct, personas of myself. Thus, as Azarim Erro in Eorzea, 'I am not lost' in my life.
Companion: Joscelin. Was researching about Edessa, and Count Joscelin I and II snagged my notice. One of the cities that brought about the ancient tradition of Christianity, and a long history from Roman to Christian to Greek and then Crusaders rule, Joscelin was the last count of Edessa before he was driven out.
Chocobo: Svadilfari - in Norse mythology, the stallion who, with Loki, fathered Sleipnir, the eight-legged horse. Probably obvious that I intended him for the chocobo breeding that hopefully will come.
All my online chars are usually called Undrentide but in ffxiv i had to shorten it to Undie Nilleshna....Undrentide was chosen as its taken from the poem Sir Orfeo where the kings wife goes off with her maidens and falls asleep at Undrentide (the time of day magic is allowed to happen) and is taken away by the fairies...when she comes back she is driven mad with grief and tears herself to pieces... Nilleshna is the title of a song by Lisa Gerrard of Dead Can Dance, and i just liked the sound of the word.
When I first played though FFT, one of my best characters was my Black Mage/Calculator named Clive. He was one of my starting chemist and I used him a lot. When I played through a second time, I got in a random battle with an ally in it. The ally was a Black Mage named Clive that joined my party after the fight. My though was, "Guess I am fated to have a Black Mage named Clive." From then on, the name Clive is a name I give to any mage character I play. The 'C' slowly became a 'K' from playing on-line game and Clive was generally taken.

"Arcturus" is a recurring firearm in the Final Fantasy series. It's also a significant star in ancient and modern astronomy, being the brightest star in the northern celestial hemisphere, deriving such titles as "Keeper of Heaven." The name comes from Greek mythology meaning "Protector of Arktos." It's also a name that I've been accustomed to using since the days of EQOA.
"Knightscreed" was inspired both the Wolfscreed supporting character name from Red Dead Redemption, as well as the concept of the Knights' Oath in "Kingdom of Heaven."

Alternatively, I own Rebecca Black. Chocobo's name is Sebring and Retainer names were Whichseatcanitake and Itsfriday. But I only play her on Fridays.
