What's the story behind your character's name?

A lot of mine were just made up. Trelose Avakiri, one of my alts, actually came from a character I made in Aion, a name which I made up! I think Avakiri came from too much Oblivion. I realized about a month after I made him how much his name sounded like Akaviri. >.>

My rep name is a play of letters with my favorite female Final Fantasy character, Rikku. I switched around the "u" and "i" and then added "rii" to it because it sounded fancy. Thus Rukkirii was born! (pronounced: Roo keer ree)

Yru (Yura) supports the name Rukkirii (Rikku).

I liked the idea of the Band of Seven from Inuyasha. (Wasn't a fan of the series but I did watch it becauase adult swim and such) So in another old mmo where you could create affiliations and gang up on people, we created our names using their style. Bonkotsu is the only one I remember. It's been this way for years.

The Story about my name.. Well, When I was playing Suikoden Tiekreis, (first playthough) The Term "Mark of the Stars" was used in reference to the 108 people (Stars) that will save the world from destruction, and I ( the Leader of the Stars) was there to guide them to Victory, Thus my name then became "Starlord".

14 years ago, when I was 10 years old, back when there was only Dial up internet in the town where I live in (That I live in still to this day), you had to have a name that was not our RL name that my mother said.... When she told me this i was time for bed... while in bed I was pondering a name that I could remember that made since... My RL name is Kevin..... So I was thinking of what could be good... then it clicked.... Seven Kevin........ Sevokevo..... DING... I used that name on the internet every since...

I wanted to make a 2nd character on FFXI because I fell out of sync with my Elvaan... I felt more of wanting to be a Tarutaru more then my Elvaan.... I also wanted that Tarutaru to be a PLD because I fell in love with the way the tarutraus look in Adaman Gear (I don't fully remember the name of the exact gear)... SO I wanted to make a name that meant Strong will... or something in that nature... Then I though about back in the move "The Ant Bully" where at the end the Queen of the Ants gave Lucas a Ant name that meant Strong will... or strong heart... I did not go into research to get the name correct so I just took a crack at the name myself and that is where I came up with Royuki.

My brother made a youtube account that had Mud spelled as Mudd
I ended up using his youtube name for my FF11 character in 07
Shortened it to Mudd for simplicities sake
and later added Vader at the end for availability, since Mudd is often taken.
Don't really remember what drove me to choose Vader though. I'm not a massive star wars fan or anything.

Jho was my first long-term FFXI character and who my current character is modeled after, her name was generated by the FFXI Mithra name random generator and I chopped off letters until I liked how it looked and sounded. Stumps was my last long-term FFXI character, and he was a Taru so that ought to be self explanatory.

One of my favorite single player games is Alice: Madness Returns so I picked Alice Liddel as my name. Though I wish Liddel was spelled Liddell instead because that is the correct spelling.

Tsuwu was my name back on Alexander in FFXI.

The random-name generator popped it up for me, I thought it was catchy and fit how Tarutarus sound, so I went with it.
Turns out it has some sort of urban gang significance...not my intent, at all.

Woodshire was my second choice of surname. I wanted to pick Alexander, since that was my XI server, but due to some complications when I was first registering my copy of XIV back on 9/21/10, I was unable to. In essence, I wasn't allowed to use that name because that name was reserved for me.
So, I picked Woodshire, because it got with the RP lore for my character.

This thread brought me out of hiding, just to reply. Lurked for about a year and a half now.
