"You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war."

Velhart (Arc the Lad 3)
+
Kratos Aurion (Tales of Symphonia)
= My creative name
Been using the Velhart name since Everquest and I am not the type to break tradition!

I see we doing chocobo names also. Mine is none other than EponaLinks Childhood
In FFXI I wanted to be Link! However someone that was on before the PS2 release happened to be Link for a mule. I am a huge Zelda fan...
So I was going to create an Elvaan to be Link, so when I couldn't cause the dreaded "Name already taken" I switched to a Tarutaru and became "Links Childhood"
He more or less looked like the original Link from Zelda on NES.
That name has carried over to FFXIV, since Link never had a last name, I used "Links Childhood" and now I am a Lalafell!!!

Yeah, the name sounds cool. As for the character and the series, I have no idea. Never played it.

Arc the Lad 1 was the first PSX RPG to be released. It was really cool because once you beat the first game, you could convert your save file to the second game and use the same exact data. At the time, this was a really neat feature. You could convert AtL 2 to 3 also, but since 3 technically is not a direct continuation, you only got extra bonus features, but the features are nice enough to make sure you beat the second one first.
All three games are on PSN and recommend all of them.
As for my chocobo name, I named mine Chobi from Final Fantasy Unlimited.

My name is a spin on Solar Shift. I wanted to use Shift as my first name, but I didn't like "Solar" as the last name. I decided the Italian version "Solare" or "Solari" was a better fit. I made his traits reflect a Solar nature, Copper toned hair w/ bleached highlights, deep tan skin and Dark Red eyes.
My Chocobo's name is Kobal, a throwback to a name I used to use in previous MMOs.

Laziness.
Took my FFXI name, added two syllables to the end, then broke it into two pieces. It turned into a format along the lines of:
Given(First) Name: [SomethingThatLooksLikeAName]
Family(Last) Name: [NounNoun] or through a different interpretation [AdjectiveNoun] (Japanese words; cynics would say to increase the weaboo factor)
-Thank You Digirotta
I've always wanted to see a thread like this!(Never did one myself though.... That would have been a good idea I guess. Oh well!)
Rex has always been a name that I like. So, I picked Rex. As for the last name, Xylon... (pronounced Z-eye-lon)..well. I looked up male names that have letters I like. Like X, or Z. I came across Xylon, which means "Wanderer of the Forest"..and thought it was fitting because I had chosen Gridania as my starting City-State. Originally my last name was Xander..but that was in Alpha / Beta of 1.0.
I also like to make my character look like me. Luckily, for some reason, Square Enix seems to know exactly what I look like some how and my character is like a spitting image of me. (aside from the blue tattoo on his face)
So basically, the midlander Hyur in all the trailers and videos looks like me in real life! XD
So, Rex Xylon! My Alter ego.
EDIT: Saw someone post about their Chocobo's name! I wanted to share mine!
My Chocobo's name is Lyric! Named after a baby horse I met when I was a child on a reserve in South Dakota. I think it's a very fitting name for a chocobo! (Kweh! Kweh!) I wanted to adopt him so bad. But it just never happened. I wonder how he is...
