All you do is to repeat your wow argument which sucks every few posts. You don't have any reasonable argument and try to claim nobody else has arguments against it.
Again (hello, repeat number 3435): Repeating myself doesn't make my argument invalid, nor does telling me that I'm repeating myself make it invalid.

Please do cite the place where I said nobody has any arguments against the idea. Lots of people do- I don't agree with most of them, but that doesn't mean their opinions and arguments aren't valid, and I have not once tried to say that's the case. But go on, please, keep attacking me.

But thats all you do in every thread so an discussion with somebody like that is wasted time..
Well, that's false. A good hearty discussion is not wasted time. It only becomes a waste of time when people, such as you, attack the arguer rather than discuss the argument.

I'm sure you're going to make another post talking about how I'm repeating myself and how much that sucks. But if you're smart, you won't do that, and this thread will end like it should. Good day.

But FFXIV is moving to regionally-located servers, so I think it would be a good idea to just have day/night match real life, with servers in each region being set to the time zone they're located in (most likely PST in the US, JST in Japan, GMT in europe).

This would also eliminate confusion between the two time systems e.g. "Is that over the next real life day / jp midnight? or is it just one game day?" and prevent the ingame date from going drastically out of line with the time the game as originally set in as the years go by (in FFXI, the game started in the 900s C.E. and the current date in game is 1166 C.E.).

I'm not really sure whether most people like this or not. What do you think?
Let's go back to your OP. This is not reason enough to sync the time of day with the server's region. We already have a real life day cycle outside of the game. Also, your last question was answered by a good amount of people on this forum with a hard, "No."

Furthermore, I've read a few posts already by people stating they have played games with this implemented and highly disliked it. I just can't think why you'd want this. If you are super OCD about the years growing faster than you'd like maybe you should map out a calender to give to the developers and tell them what makes more sense. Maybe their world is smaller and rotates more quickly. Maybe they have 1,095 days in their year.

It started off that you were concerned about one thing, but ignoring the other fact that players want to be immersed in the scenery and get the chance to experience all the aspects of it. You don't get that with a sync. I'm not going to assume you have or don't have things to fill your days with, but not all of us can sign in during the day as much as others. We have households to support and take care of, children, jobs, and most importantly... brunches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No. Horrible idea for many reasons already mentioned earlier.

I for one am not for it to sync to real time, i like to experience the game day and night and all other things. Keeping it to real time sync, will mean it only be the same period of the day that most people can experience if they have a job and work.

I do however wouldn;t mind the day and night last longer, just don't be real time. Also, for people that are from other region countries not situated on the 3 regional data centers, it be way off for them, and if there are events and NM and such that only spawn at specific time, alot of people can't ever experience it due to their life stuff.

So am saying no to this

If you read my original post, the main reason is so that we only have to think about one time scale instead of two. Then players and the game don't have to distinguish between the two and it's never ambiguous or unclear which one you're talking about. You have no idea how often on various XI forums and linkshell conversations where it's been an issue and I've had to ask "do you mean the next game day, or next real life day?"

But apparently I'm the only one who's ever had this frustration. That's fine. I figured that this bugged a lot of people, but apparently I was wrong.

This isn't a good idea. Everyone in the world are all in different time zones, hemispheres, countries, languages, etc. Having Eorzean time unifies everyone so we're all on the same page/time frame. Eorzean time is fine. It's all about unity and making things easier for everyone.

I love the XI/XIV time system, so I would have to say I am in favor of keeping it
But be nice to the OP. He has a right to feel that way and mention it to see how others feel. Thats the point to all this isn't it? the good, the bad and the ugly brainstorming of ideas? As adults, of course.

Ah, but will facing north-by-northeast at 2:45 a.m. while the moon is a waning crescent result in a 27% increase in your chances to synthesize HQ mythril ingots!? That is real the question! ~Fernehalwes~

    So that's:
5 Data centres for the US, 6 if you include South America
5 or more Data centres for Europe
3 for Australia plus another for New Zealand.
    1 in Japan
5 more if covering Russia and asia

I think I see an issue with this.

This has to be one of the worst suggestions I've heard in months.
What if I can only play at night most days? am I only going to see eorzea in the moonlight? Never going to see the sun rising because I'd be asleep by then? Terrible idea
