It would be nice if the company system had an option to set a guild clock for their members (non related to day/night in game).

then you only have 1 datacenter in NA and you got first troubles, same for EUI can see it work. As long as there aren't any unique occurrences at a certain time, like mobs spawning only at night, like skellies and undead. But, undead could spawn anytime indoors to fix that.
Have the data center's time zone match in game time. So the western US data center would follow PST, whereas the eastern seaboard would follow EST.
We can't have any of that "stores are only open at certain hours" stuff. Otherwise, someone who works 5 days a week 1st shift will never be able to use the shops.
Mainly because it would change the dynamic athstetically of the game we are currently playing with no added convenience. Sure I'm sure alot of games have a 24 hour clock, but that was from the get-go and it's not something people care about.
But let's say Blizzard decided to go on a time-base like FFXI-XIV (Other games have it as well Ultima Online comes to mind) I'm sure the WoW fanbase would be up in arms about this seemingly useless change because as you point out they wouldn't develope content around the cycle it's just for your personal pleasure that 90% of the people playing don't care for.
The game started with a short day/night cycle and the developers have allready stated they are looking into adding night-time monsters and other such things to spice up the time cycle.
I'm sure in some places the sky is green and the grass is blue, but it's always been like that so it's not strange. When someone comes up and tells us that that's wrong and we should think the way he does....well I hope you can see what people are saying.
No thanks.
I am against this.
I like frog
There is just no reason to change it anyway.
You don't have "reasonable, valid arguments." You do, in fact, ignore everyone else's arguments against this, and continue to trumpet up your own subjective "confusion" over in game and regional time while playing down the importance of visual atmosphere. Please just let it rest— it's a mediocre suggestion that adds next to nothing to the game. I dont know how you can argue that "no one will notice it" when the fact that the mere suggestion itself has brought on so much negative reception. It's as if you want to pretend that people didn't play 1.0 and actually liked the hourly day and night cycle.
How can you deny that it would create confusion as well if it were synced to regional time? If I lived in Chicago and server time were locked to Los Angeles, the in game time would still be different. It would still prompt me to ask "what us that in CT?" or calculate the difference between. Hell, I probably wouldn't even know what region it's synced to in the first place, adding to the confusion. I think you're grasping at straws when you're trying to argue for "positives" to this.
It's a bad idea... /endthread..
It's so obviously a bad idea, that idk why we are even talking about it..lol..
Actually you have neither, meanwhile others have stated exactly why they don't want this. The idea of being forced to play at a certain light ambiance is not appealing. They don't want to sacrifice playing with their LS simply to play in a region which fits their ambient light aesthetic. There is no reason to change the time system. None. Why should SE waste time changing this? What benefit is there in changing a system that isn't broke? Simple, there is none.Actually, i do not and have not ignore any arguments against it. I simply have reasonable and valid counterarguments.
Saying "the idea is dumb" is a logical fallacy. You have to state WHY you think it is dumb to make a compelling argument.
There are better things to discuss than system changes that will never happen. This isn't a problem that needs to be addressed, and it adds nothing to the content to be worthwhile.
yes. I repeat the same reasonable arguments over and over again. Your attack against me doesn't even address the statement you quoted...No, no you don't. All you do is repeat yourself over and over again despite what others add to the discussion, much like in the animation lock thread.
Actually, I do have those things. You're totally welcome to disagree with my arguments, but that doesn't make them unreasonable.Actually you have neither, meanwhile others have stated exactly why they don't want this.
It's fine to tell me I'm wasting my time, but it's not fine to tell me that my argument isn't reasonable when it is, and also give no reasoning for why you think so. "all you do is repeat yourself" does not address my argument. All you do is attack the person, but I haven't complained about that up til now...
Why can't people disagree without resulting to ad hominum?
You know, I agree- but I never said that this was essential or vital. Only that I think it would be a good idea and would relieve confusion that the existing system sometimes caused. I disagree that it doesn't add anything worthwhile, but I do agree that it's not something that HAS to be worked on. I was merely proposing an idea and instead I got my throat cut. There are better things to discuss than system changes that will never happen. This isn't a problem that needs to be addressed, and it adds nothing to the content to be worthwhile.

All you do is to repeat your wow argument which sucks every few posts. You don't have any reasonable argument and try to claim nobody else has arguments against it.
But thats all you do in every thread so an discussion with somebody like that is wasted time..
