oh heck no. That would ruin seeig transitions of night and day If you only play certain times of days. Real time and mmo's just don't work well in cases where you have tiem of day elements, and if crafting does play a roll it will make it to difficult for many.

You an change the clock to acutaly time, rather then game time if it bothers you so much.

I can see it work. As long as there aren't any unique occurrences at a certain time, like mobs spawning only at night, like skellies and undead. But, undead could spawn anytime indoors to fix that.

Have the data center's time zone match in game time. So the western US data center would follow PST, whereas the eastern seaboard would follow EST.

We can't have any of that "stores are only open at certain hours" stuff. Otherwise, someone who works 5 days a week 1st shift will never be able to use the shops.

    So that's:
5 Data centres for the US, 6 if you include South America
5 or more Data centres for Europe
3 for Australia plus another for New Zealand.
    1 in Japan
5 more if covering Russia and asia

I think I see an issue with this.

I did not say one data center per time zone. As far as I know, SE may put 2 data centers in the US. One on the east coast, and the other in the west.

I doubt that will happen, they have are located in California so prolly Datacenter would be there. Eastcoast would have badluck, same gonna happen with a bunch of countries in EU that don't have Datacenters in their Timezones. You would need to seperate the Servers on the Datacenters in Timezones again to make this work properly.

In fact we would end with an Serversystem like many other MMO's where ppl get seperated totally cause of language etc. Datacenter are allready the 1st step in this direction but seperating cause of timezone would even make this worse.

It would be nice if the company system had an option to set a guild clock for their members (non related to day/night in game).

There is just no reason to change it anyway.

You don't have "reasonable, valid arguments." You do, in fact, ignore everyone else's arguments against this, and continue to trumpet up your own subjective "confusion" over in game and regional time while playing down the importance of visual atmosphere. Please just let it rest— it's a mediocre suggestion that adds next to nothing to the game. I dont know how you can argue that "no one will notice it" when the fact that the mere suggestion itself has brought on so much negative reception. It's as if you want to pretend that people didn't play 1.0 and actually liked the hourly day and night cycle.

How can you deny that it would create confusion as well if it were synced to regional time? If I lived in Chicago and server time were locked to Los Angeles, the in game time would still be different. It would still prompt me to ask "what us that in CT?" or calculate the difference between. Hell, I probably wouldn't even know what region it's synced to in the first place, adding to the confusion. I think you're grasping at straws when you're trying to argue for "positives" to this.
