I said Eorzea doesn't have specified days of the week, as in Earthsday, Windsday, etc. What you linked just shows months carry those properties, not days.

If you take this same system into consideration the exact same way it was applied in Final Fantasy XI, you have 74 hours and 40 minutes (about 3 days) every 18 days to align yourself with the proper element. In Final Fantasy XI, you would not want to fight avatars on their elemental day, because they were more powerful, but a day lasted 1 hour, so you could just wait. Having to wait 3 days for this to pass would suck, a lot.

If they have a similar system to XI had with elemental days and such, A Realm Reborn is going to be even more obnoxious.

KiriA, there's another letter in there.

Fun fact: I loved Final Fantasy XI. Please stop acting like I hate it.

Also, there was nothing "straight forward" about XI.

Haha yeah, I mean Firesday didn't enhance fire spells or anything. Oh, telling me to kill Lizard families during earthsday or earth weather definitely wasn't straight forward either.

When I was doing CoP, I definitely wasn't told to head to Ru`lude Gardens guard post for a cutscene or anything..yep. Selecting Cure and using it on a player didn't heal them, it was a complicated set of algorithms that you had to calculate in order to make cure actually heal people, yeah?

Let's be realistic here, the only thing that wasn't put out in the open was latent/hidden/food effects/strategies (strategies most MMO companies won't tell to begin with because they want to see their player base actually attempt to figure it out.) The only reason there's quest info on the wiki for example is because people actually did them in order to supply it, unless you actually thought SE was the one adding Mission and Quest data to the wiki?

This is why even with XIV SE would never confirm or deny things like moon phases.

There was a lot of stuff not put out in the open that you didn't mention. Unless you had prior knowledge, you wouldn't know how or when to get a subjob, where to do advanced job quests, what level you needed to be, where to level at what levels, etc.

Yes, there's the whole "trial and error thing," but let's be honest here, aside from the initial group of players who had to figure this stuff out on their own, nobody tested these things. They all went online to find guides on how to do it. I'm not saying a game has to be like "OH HAY YOU JUST HIT LEVEL 18 CONGRATS NOW HEAD TO THIS PLACE TO GET YOUR SUBJOB YOU NEED THESE ITEMS LOL AFTER THAT GO TO THIS PLACE CONGRATS AGAIN!", but there has to be some form of communication to the player on where to go.
