Shame that you never played FFXIV, a game with a more severe RNG than XI.

The only question is to what degree these things affect crafting and gathering. As you can see by my signature, I was an avid FFXI crafter and devoted all of my time to it. HQ theory crafting went to an extreme of testing whether equipping an elemental staff had an effect on the HQ rate but I can assure you that direction and time frames were the norm.
I noticed this as well. This is why SE will never confirm or deny it in regards to XIV since we do have phases as well as deities regarding this stuff in terms of lore alone.

I said Eorzea doesn't have specified days of the week, as in Earthsday, Windsday, etc. What you linked just shows months carry those properties, not days.

If you take this same system into consideration the exact same way it was applied in Final Fantasy XI, you have 74 hours and 40 minutes (about 3 days) every 18 days to align yourself with the proper element. In Final Fantasy XI, you would not want to fight avatars on their elemental day, because they were more powerful, but a day lasted 1 hour, so you could just wait. Having to wait 3 days for this to pass would suck, a lot.

If they have a similar system to XI had with elemental days and such, A Realm Reborn is going to be even more obnoxious.

KiriA, there's another letter in there.

Fun fact: I loved Final Fantasy XI. Please stop acting like I hate it.

Also, there was nothing "straight forward" about XI.

Haha yeah, I mean Firesday didn't enhance fire spells or anything. Oh, telling me to kill Lizard families during earthsday or earth weather definitely wasn't straight forward either.

When I was doing CoP, I definitely wasn't told to head to Ru`lude Gardens guard post for a cutscene or anything..yep. Selecting Cure and using it on a player didn't heal them, it was a complicated set of algorithms that you had to calculate in order to make cure actually heal people, yeah?

Let's be realistic here, the only thing that wasn't put out in the open was latent/hidden/food effects/strategies (strategies most MMO companies won't tell to begin with because they want to see their player base actually attempt to figure it out.) The only reason there's quest info on the wiki for example is because people actually did them in order to supply it, unless you actually thought SE was the one adding Mission and Quest data to the wiki?

This is why even with XIV SE would never confirm or deny things like moon phases.

I guess FFXIV has just been "even more obnoxious" all along:

    Chapter 1 - The Suns:
By the unit of a sole Sun we mean that period which lasts for the duration of four cycles of the six elemental hours - those of Ice, Water, Wind, Lightning, Fire, and Earth. And so is the sun twenty hours and four, and so shall it ever be.
Every in game hour is assigned one of the six elements which repeat 4 cycles for a total of 24 hours per day

    Chapter 2 - The Moons:
The life of a single Moon spans four cycles of eight Suns, and is thus the sum of thirty and two. The eight deriveth from the elements six, Ice, Water, Wind, Lightning, Fire, and Earth, and the polarities two, Astral and Umbral.

The life of a month consists of four cycles of 8 days (4x8 = 32 days) The eight day cycles consist of ice day, waterday, windday, lightningday, fireday, earthday, lightday and darkday.

    Chapter 3 - The Years:
The Year is made when the Moon goeth round the two Astral and Umbral poles, fluctuating between the six elements, and that in turn. In this, the Year can be said to be the length of twelve Moons. The first and second Moons of the Year are the first astral and first Umbral, and together they share affinity with Ice. On their watch, all is frozen, and breath of life sloweth to near silence beneath. The second Astral and second Umbral Moons come third and fourth in turn, and they are the Water of the melting Ice, and with their flowing slaketh the thirst of life again. Fifth and sixth are the third Astral and third Umbral Moons, and the Wind bloweth over the Water, carrying its heavenly boons near and far. The fourth pairing of Astral and Umbral Moons come six and seven. when the heavens rageth with the furies of Lightning and sendeth them below with godly terror to test the faith of men. The ninth and tenth Moons are the Fifth Astral and Umbral, as the Lightning turns to Fire, and it charreth growing life with the colors of its flames, bleeding blade and leaf with brilliant ues of crimson and scarlet. Year's end eometh in the eleventh and twelfth Moons, the sixth Astral and sixth Umbral, in which the Earth consumes all, for out of the ground we are taken for the dust we are, and to the dust we shall return.
Months of the year: 12 in total
    1) Astral Ice
    2) Umbral Ice
    3) Astral Water
    4) Umbral Water
    5) Astral Wind
    6) Umbral Wind
    7) Astral Lightning
    8) Umbral Lightning
    9) Astral Fire
    10) Umbral Fire
    11) Astral Earth
    12) Umbral Earth

Ice turns to water, is vaporized by wind, which becomes lightning, that creates fire, which leaves but earth in it's wake.

Read what I write before responding ignorantly it would prevent me from having to repeat myself and thus save a lot of time.

There was a lot of stuff not put out in the open that you didn't mention. Unless you had prior knowledge, you wouldn't know how or when to get a subjob, where to do advanced job quests, what level you needed to be, where to level at what levels, etc.

Yes, there's the whole "trial and error thing," but let's be honest here, aside from the initial group of players who had to figure this stuff out on their own, nobody tested these things. They all went online to find guides on how to do it. I'm not saying a game has to be like "OH HAY YOU JUST HIT LEVEL 18 CONGRATS NOW HEAD TO THIS PLACE TO GET YOUR SUBJOB YOU NEED THESE ITEMS LOL AFTER THAT GO TO THIS PLACE CONGRATS AGAIN!", but there has to be some form of communication to the player on where to go.

KiriA, you just have to ignore Elexia. She only sees in extremes. Common sense and middle grounds don't exist in her universe.

I take it back, the days are specified so simply, how could I not have seen it before?

I don't know how you see anything other than sarcasm in everything he said.

Also, as stated above, it's KiriA.

It's great to finally see what night-time will look like. Personally I think the light level is perfect. Maybe those of you who think it's too bright have your monitors too bright? (Or else mine is too dark).

** Reinheart hands over HQ signed subligar to Fernehalwes. (Crafted facing North, Full Moon, 00:00AM after /pray)

You know Matsume's one too but also Cloudo Onizuka's one... NA GM's are more fun to talk too... JP GM's I talked to in the past were so bland.... I'll remember to switch to english before calling GM next time... lol
