Meh.. From those shots, the night sky look to boring, I was expecting something more stellar. Like you can see the galaxy or something to give you a reason to look up and admire besides the moon.

"Ah, but will facing north-by-northeast at 2:45 a.m. while the moon is a waning crescent result in a 27% increase in your chances to synthesize HQ mythril ingots!? That is real the question! ~Fernehalwes"
Lmaoo Such a blatant XI Reference. Oh man. So good. Sooo good.
I think most of us are going to enjoy looking up at a sky that doesn't hold a looming Imminent Death Ball at all times.
I like the night shots. Looks very... Nighty. I can't wait to see how Limsa/La Noscea look.
I think it will look better in an open area where your view isn't obstructed by trees.
Answers are a prison. It also takes out all the fun of discovering arcane knowledge like elemental affinities. (Even if all you do is look it up on a wiki page.) But SE did finally officially name the moon phases. (In v1.x just hover the mouse over the moon phase icon). Same for weather.
FFXI was superb in this regard. The moon had a slight color to it the same as the day's crystal affinity. And there were a few special quests that required a certain moon phase or time of day or night, or even weather. Extreme weather had a double elemental effect. Each zone only supported appropriate weather, like no snow on tropical islands, and was perhaps influenced slightly by the time of in-game year. So much attention to detail in FFXI.

I wonder if they'll have those colored stars in the cardinal directions like they did for XI. I'm pretty sure those stars are where the crafting compass came from in the first place.
yeah that's why i said "as we know them" as in 7 day weeks, that's also why i said "if anything they would be 8 day weeks." In any case it's not like one week holds any significance in game in the same sense that the hours, days, months and years of the game are attributed to elements.I disagree. You just quoted the part of the tomes that says a moon/month lasts 4 cycles of 8 days. It seems clear that the concept of weeks exists, at least as much as on Earth where we also don't give them names but define how many days long they are.
It's nice to see one of the interpretations of all that from v1, but ultimately it didn't have any detectable influence on anything. So far nobody has seen time pass in ARR. I'd much rather see SE change time/lore/elements to make it all logical and useful than stick with the old system of ambiguities and impotence.
Personally I enjoy the ambiguities of the game, it creates a sort of wild goose chase that is sure to lead you down one rabbit hole or another. I really do enjoy searching for the finer intricacies of lore in game as you can see. However, a certain level of mystery should be maintained to keep the treasure hunt mentality alive. I find it oh so boring when every detail is laid out in front of you such as in a guide, it destroys the search for knowledge and the fun that comes along with it.
Oh and I would also love to see more stellar nighttime skies, literally, as in visible galaxies in purple and pink hues akin to the hubble space telescope images. Maybe this could be seen only from certain high altitude vantage points such as crystal tower or some mountain...
Beautiful.
I've always loved nighttime more than daytime, IRL as well as in video games. Nighttime is always prettier, and lights shine the brightest. Eorzea's nighttime in ARR looks like it's going to have me out late many a day when I play this.
Looking forward to seeing more!
