Remaking V. 1.0 chars in ARR

I just wanted to know whether or not we will be able to recreate our version 1.0 chars in ARR? and if so, will it be optional when starting up the game?

Yes, there is a new character creator and we will all be able to use it..
I could of responded in the typical ffxiv forum manner of "omg wtf is wrong with u BBQ, there is a million topics about this!" but.. I'd rather not. :P

I believe they are also making it so the benchmark(w/ character creator) will allow you to load the character data from 1.x thats stored on your computer(if you didnt delete it like i did) so you can use your old char as a starting point of creating your new(as in appearance, not a whole new character) character.

Unfortunately renaming isn't confirmed yet, but being looked at last I saw.

it's going to happen they not going to allow us to change sex and not change our names it's not that hard to make it work in 1.0 there was a loop hole in how changing your name. Delete your char talk to SE in chat support to recover your char when you get your char back within 4-8m you enter and it tell you to change your name. Saw a person doing this about 6 times to he told me i can no longer do it because the dev wont recover his char anymore.

With a new coding/engine i don't believe that they can't do something simple as change name if they can';t do that then good luck FFXIV ARR lol.

You do know abusing this kind of feature will only end badly for you, right? There is no "it will happen", from SE themselves they're looking into it and can't promise anything. That's the official word.

It won't matter what your name is if you gender swap because the only thing that matters at that point is if the game converts your gear properly.

Did i say i was the one using the loop hole there no way i would risk delete my char just to change my name. I pick my name and been using it sense day one of FFXIV release.

just saying if people could do that loop hole in ffxiv 1.0 i'm sure they allow us to switch our names in 2.0 i be keeping mine because like i said been using it sense day one.
