Devs: Do you have plans to reset the forums in the future?

I think they should reset all banned accounts for the new forums. It is and how we have been learning a lesson not to break the rules again. I am sorry to hear that your brother is unable to login the forums.

I don't see why he should get perma-banned since I did break the rules many times and I got forgiven. When first did this happen to your brother?

I think it happened right before the service fees went offline last year. It was pretty ridiculous and as you have said I have seen others say stuff far far worse and not even get a slap on the wrist.

What we did this month and last month is a different story. If I were you, I would tell him to wait until the new forums open or use mine to post something as long as he follows the rules.

I remember reading that they would archive these forums make them read only or something when ARR is out. But then it would still be the same forums maybe with a different skin or something.

First let us apologize for the inconvenience that this caused those of you that were unable to log in. We appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention so we could move quickly to resolve it. Anyone that was affected should now be able to log in as normal.

Just as a side note, the current forums will continue to be used even after the launch of A Realm Reborn and we have no plans on closing them down. However, to match the design changes for Lodestone and other web sites, there is a possibility that we change the design for the forums as well! We haven't decided how we will treat all of the posts made up until A Realm Reborn service begins, but there is a chance that we make them a read-only archive.

We will be sure to keep you all updated on any changes.

Imo they should either archive it or delete it and reset the status of all members who hold a FFXIV account. Give them a fresh start or a start with a mark already against them and a warning letting them know that their account is activated to post on forums again but will be watched based on previous actions. Etc. Win - Win scenario.

Chances are if you've been permabanned on here, you've had plenty of warnings in the form of temps.

This. They never ban you without cause, permabans that is. They'll temporary ban you for hours sometimes a day but a permaban is earned lol.

Everyone active and not banned will likely get a fresh start since most of the subject matter here will be unrelated to ARR.
