    What I always imagined was an overlay that you can open while you're in FFXIV.
    Every Linkshell automatically gets a Lodestone sub-Forum (obviously invsibile to others) and a DKP System like site which can be opened over the Linkshell Menu.

    Sounds like a future add-on with the SDK they'll be releasing...
