"Animated Blood" in the rating (USA)?

This has been bothering me since 1.0. If this game had the rating for Teen (USA) and one of the descriptions for animated blood, where exactly in the game did it show animated blood? I do have the 1.0 benchmark and while the scene plays out with the jellyfish being slaughtered on the ship, there is a spray of purple liquid, which I assume is blood. But throughout playing the game, I've never really seen any animated blood other than that one scene (and it was jellyfish juice, not NPC humanoid blood). So really, where is the supposed blood?

I know that in FFXI with your character fighting enemies, when you would get hit by an attack, there would be a spray of purplish blood from being hit. Though there was no blood or spray when you were to hit an enemy, which is odd.

i haven't seen any blood spray in 1.0 and if it did have i didn't take notice to it too much. Me personally i really could see having animations for the player along with the mobs having bruise marks, cuts, gear wear and tear/aging, slouching, fatigue, dislocated body parts, etc etc. Blood spray in my opinion is unnecessary and doesn't need to be all over the place in a ff game, im not squeamish when i see blood its just i don't care for it. Like i said in the ladder i rather that then seeing blood spraying and coming out of the player and the mob.

Yeah, I really don't see how the game got rated for animated blood when there really isn't except the Limsa Lominsa opening scene. I also don't understand why FFXI had it, though.

one secene is all it takes to affect the rating.

Put a hidden stripper scene in the game that you have to unlock with a code, itt'l still get a M or AO rating even if there isn't anything in the normal gameplay.

The other thing to remember is that this game is going to be played by a wide variety of ages. It certainly isn't something I enjoy when I pull out Skyrim and I have to admit that would be the kind of thing I would not allow to be played for my children had that been a option when they were in their teens. I am sure other parents feel the same.

Fortunately the Japanese are in charge and they don't seem inclined to make that sort of thing as realistic as they want to go in the US.

    SO MUCH BLOOD!!!

I'm pretty sure the "purple mist" that occasionally popped up when you got hit is what counted as animated blood, at least in XI. Not sure about XIV.

purple stuff use to come out of the mob when you hit it, when they made the mobs smaller or larger, the purple stuff disappeared on alot of the mobs, not all but they were mostly the ones scuttled to the 4 corners of the realm never to be conquered again.
