My main topic:-

I wish i can change my character name .. i choose it because i love Tifa ... but its lame that my friend call me by her name as i'm a male ..

I dont know what the developers said lately

Are you going to change to a male Miqo'te too? It would really be weird to see male characters with female names

If SE wants to restrict it then at least let us change our first name. I want to change my first name because I get complaints that it's hard to type.

the last spoken words from the devs was that changing our characters names is technically possible but its not a 100% thing they wanna do or not to do. so personally what i take from this is atleast its "technically possible" to do so now its just up to SE for doing it or not, rather then hearing them say we would like to allow players to change their names but its technically just not possible for whatever reasons.

They said they trying to find a way i don't see why they could not. I mean people in 1.0 where changing there FFXIV name but just deleting there Char going to live support chat and asking them to recover there char. Which i saw a guy doing in about 8min and once you return and click your char it would ask you to rename your char so he does and log back in. He did this about 5+times in ffxiv but he said it's a risk because the support people said they wont recover it anymore if he keep doing it.

So there you go there always a way to change your name and i'm sure they allow us too i don't see why can't they. If they say they can't due to ARR then they did not do good enough job at recording ffxiv if they can't make a way for us to change our name then what else is ARR limit too when that is a very simple thing to do lol.

If you're going to be allowed to change gender then of course they will allow name changes.
