    Battle Regimen, it was going to make a comeback, no?

    I was hunting through my old videos and found the one I made on how to battle regimen;

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5R2c...r_eaw&index=59

    I REALLY liked the system, it added a wonderful extra level to combat, making it more fun. Didn't the devs say it would make a comeback at some point?

    Also, incapacitation on monsters, (taking off horns, breaking shells, breaking legs, disarming weapons) Was awesome. Will that be coming back? I loved those two systems, they made combat more than "spam actions till things die."

    Here's to hoping they make a comeback.

    Look at the effects you could do when used properly.

    Edit: Battle Regimen has become the limit break system, confirmed by dev post.

    Supposedly Limit breaks, at least from what i've gathered, no hard evidence, are what Battle Regimens became.

    Battle Regimen, even if it was an original idea, was awful. You couldn't do anything during it, only wait for other people. I'd like it if it was more dynamic (Skillchain FFXI), where people can coordinate to increase damage or putting a debuff on the mob, without been stopped on the ground for minutes. I hope this is what "Fine Play" means. (It fills LB Gauge)

    Actually it was very useful once people figured out how it worked.

    Assuming everyone knew how to do them, there was almost no down time.

    Right, but it required communication to fire them off without losing actions- communication which could have made a skillchain in XI with comparatively less hassle.

    Like I said, battle regimen was basically intended as a mechanisim to automate the skillchain concept from XI- it just failed miserably because for the average user, it cost more to use than it provided in benefits.

    Yeah, Ispano may be right... could be what has now evolved into the Limit Break system (I hope)... guess we shall find out soon enough. I remember back in 2010 during initial release there was a lot of speculation on their effects and how to trigger them more often.

    Speaking of which, it would also be wicked if (in addition to just Meteor?) they added Gigaflare to the list of limit break spells.

    hope something gets added, from the vids we have seen there is zero dynamicness as in no need to react to moves by stun, or moving or silencing mage mobs or what have you. quick boring kills where every mob is the same no matter what, do this, this and this and done. rather then all of them having different things you need to do to speed up the fight. though i did notice in the dungeon video mobs doing a move that looked like some kinda shield so maybe we will be able to remove there buffs and stuff ...but every class should have something. ffxi got boring when they made skill chains not as important. landing nukes and chaining stuff was fun. they should keep something like this in the game.

    From what I understand, the limit break system and battle regimen system are two separate things, and yes it's supposed to be making a come back in 2.0. If it has indeed evolved into the limit break system, there has been no mention of it replacing battle regimen, therefore it makes me believe they are two separate things.

    Only way to know for sure.....is to wait for beta.
