this might be the reason i end up quitting, i hate quest leveling. especially if this is a solo thing. it better be better to do in a party, if not i will not level another class and i will not level raise caps. i don't play mmo's to solo, especially the biggest parts of the game. it's just straight bull shit to go from 8man exp grinds(actualy 16man party grinds tanaka launch) to solo quests, it's a different game all together.(i quit every mmo for the past 10years since ffxi that had quest grinds and solo grinds they suck) and having option to party doesn't mean people will party, aka tera, it was a pain to get even one or 2 people to run threw a full zone of quests, most solo'd and even skiped the hard party ones scattered around the game) if this was a car sale and they sent me a buick instead of the porche i payed for there would be lawsuits ...so nice that the gaming and mmo industry doesn't get held by the same standards of products.

Eh with the breaking up of the zones, and adding of new ones, I doubt they would make us run across the world to get the next "batch" of quests.

Party grinds are still a viable and faster source of exp, they just added more stuff for the solo people to jump into. Also helps break up the monotony of just doing one thing all day everyday.

    Not what I meant.

Was referring to the implication that each zone has starter quest and some people like to do every quest they can. (and not wait for a new class to experience this)

I wasn't implying you had to run over to LL to grab the next set of quest...

Even if you did every quest you could on your first class, if you saved all your leves you could easily level another just off leves alone.

Just wait till beta, or when people are allowed to talk about Alpha.

I get it..... Games have to evolve, change and grow. All leves (yuck), xp questing (WOWish), xp dungeons (cool), FATE (can't wait), but why take away xp grinding. I know xp grinding is an old form of lvling, but I personally enjoy it. It in my opinion is what created bonds in FFXI and FFXIV. I'm not questioning the other forms of leveling. My only concern is why punish xp grinding.

I like the way they're setting it up, totally beats the leve or pt grind onry xp!
THis.. and Dungeon runs.. Daily's etc.

I'm sure there's gonna be plenty of party based quests. It's also not like you and friends all can't do the same quests together or go run dungeons. XP parties are a thing of the passed and should cease to exist any longer in the MMO world. Find a guild with people of the same goal sets or preferences as you. It's also more than likely that half the people playing wanted to get to max level to do endgame which does require a party.

They didn't "take it away." It is just not the primary means. If that is what you are interested in doing, go right ahead, it's still viable.

tl;dr of SE's statement regarding this: "It's inefficient to grind on monsters."

SE flatout stated it's inefficient compared to everything else especially doing a mix of things but they said you can't progress doing monster grinding. When something is inefficient why would you do it? You can still do it, but why would you when it won't actually help much?
