Massive influx of spam post beta application

It has come to my attention that a number of people have been getting flooded with spam emails from "Square Enix" over the last 24-hours. I'm just trying to touch base and see if any of you out there have been getting them as well?


I am aware that the email is in regards to Final Fantasy XI but I can't ignore the fact that forums and social media alike are blowing up with people getting these same 20+ emails in the last 24 hours. I have no clue if it's at all tied to the beta application or a security breach but it's worth asking around.
