I like to look, but I tend to not like people to know I'm looking. It feels embarrassing to be caught looking at someone's gear (especially multiple times).

Why not add a sound effect to when we are intently examining someones gear? Like you character say "stare..."
Trolling aside I deplored the silly people that used "/em examined you." You could also easily tell they were just typing it when you are standing near them off to the side and their head never turns. Though this emote really only worked is you had the English client. Either way, I am abstaining for this vote as for me it was never a problem.

If I recall correctly, you could type in /c Persondude and it would check the player without needing to target you^^;Why not add a sound effect to when we are intently examining someones gear? Like you character say "stare..."

Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of another, always at the same time as an end and never simply as a means

Originally I wanted this, but after going back to XI and having one particularly ruder "helper" constantly look at my gear like I'm the ugly girl that needs a makeover, I think I'd rather not know if people are judging me. I know my gear isn't what it could be, and being notified that people are staring doesn't make it feel any better.

The whole examines you thing was pretty stupid. I had a few JP players who threatened to call a GM on me because of it in FFXI.

Its probably for the better if they didn't add in a notification for checking people. If nobody knows then no hard feelings.

i like looking at people or there bazars while running. it's just something to do, hopefully they add options to do this without it making you stop. i liked running and looking. without that i almost never look. but personally i had every piece of gear almost so i didn't mind getting checked out, but i know some people would literally flip the fuk out for no reason. lol it's there to use. i never bitched people out about gear specially since i usually did this in town running around randomly grabbing people but if i get yelled at i would just spam the crap out of them ...sorry no need to be rude about just looking at your gear lmao. so not having this is fine, i don't need people knowing i'm looking when i am but i don't want to be stopped dead in my tracks when i do, i want to keep running.

The way I see it is, if you don't want to be examined, stay in your Inn roomGoes for the JPs too. I've seen plenty of non-JPs get frustrated at being examined. I've been bitched at in /tell because of checking a random party member's gear. It happens. But with SQEX being a JP company, they'll cater to the JPs first and foremost...so when they whine and cry enough, something is sure to change. Though for the life of me, I wonder why they never changed the JP text for it in FFXI.
