Who is he?
who controls him or who does he side with?
Is he a primal?
Is he in his own league?
Is he just a NM?
does he have something to do with the lifestream of the planet?
Did he come from the Dark side?

A primal Maybe.
A NM if so maybe wondering like Dark IXION from FFXI.
A hero maybe.
From Dalamud am sure.

yes'agree but didnt know we were talking about odin from other FFS, if that's the case I've do think odin from IX looks' awesome but then again do like Odin from XI much more, like how his spear become's a blade when he dose Zantetsuken.

what i dislike about odin in FFXI and FFXIV now, that his horse only has 4 hooves and not 6.

look at him being bored awaiting his next appearance.
I really want the REAL Gilgamesh to return, XI's version was lackluster and hardly like the traditional series counterparts.

Well i think in FF12 the gilgamesh was also quiet good and funny (cartoony).

He was a lame side character pirate in the Rise of the Zilart. He had little face time and the only resemblance to the original was that he collected Samurai blades.
