When you say "people" do you mean informed game industry employees who have played the release version of ARR or do you mean a couple of asshats that posted their "opinion" on the interweb?
Well, probably asshats, but still, most of these predictions were true related to other games, I know the quality of ARR is on a whole other level, but anyway, the mindset of the buyer can damage this title badly, if every mmo goes f2p in a few months after release, why should this one be different? why buy it if it's going to be free in the near future?
From first hand experience what i can say is, i do not see ARR f2p any time in the near future (4-6 years)...
