square enix has deep pockets. 11 still going and not F2P and what that like over 10years.
The cost to do what they did and in Yoshi P words: rebuild, reboot, rebirth, and relaunch was probably extraordinary
so i find it hard to fathom that FFXIV would ever be F2P
