linux cant get DRM its protected by the GPL and its already free, and when you add something to the OS you have to release the source code. linux can do everything and more then OSX(locked down unix) or windows.
Linux is getting alot closer to becoming the leader you can double click to install alot of software now. all they need to do is standardize. you can run DX on linux with wine so thats false.
