The new GUI has already been made and seen in countless screenshots- it was even seen when 2.0 was announced ages ago. Have you really never seen it? Go watch the alpha videos.

It is too late to be asking SE to make a new UI interface at this point.
It's not too late for "sometime in our future", it's only too late for "making the launch." But it won't matter that much because once UI modding becomes available, people will customize the interface however they want it.
